Dame Glenys Stacey

Interim Chief Regulator, Ofqual

Dame Glenys Stacey re-joined Ofqual as acting Chief Regulator on 26 August 2020. Her first term at Ofqual was as CEO and Chief Regulator from March 2011 until March 2016.

A solicitor by profession, Dame Glenys has a wealth of CEO and regulatory experience, having led the start up or turnaround of a number of public sector regulatory organisations. She has been chief executive of Standards for England, the Criminal Cases Review Commission, and Animal Health, served as Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Probation from 2016 to 2019 and chaired the Professional Standards Authority from 1 April 2020 to her appointment as acting Chief Regulator of Ofqual.
