Chris Quickfall

CEO & Founder, Cognassist

While studying at university Chris was diagnosed with dyslexia. The experience of completing a cognitive assessment was transformative. It gave him a framework to understand how he thinks and learns as an individual. However, he was frustrated that he had to wait until university for this. When he was growing up, no one was talking about neurodiversity and he had to create his own coping strategies. Chris knew there would be learners like himself with hidden needs. Learners who would either choose not to remain in education or wouldn’t have the opportunity. How would they receive the same support in sectors with less funding and access to traditional cognitive assessments?

Cognassist is his answer to this problem.

Cognassist is the UK’s leading cognitive diversity platform, working with over 100 of the UK’s best education providers. They’re on a mission to help every learner reach their full potential and empower learning providers for the future. They offer a scalable and accessible digital cognitive assessment, personalised learner journeys and state of the art neuroscience training for learning providers. As well as leading multiple businesses, Chris is a member and representative of the British Assistive Technology Association (BATA) and advises government on their policies towards cognitively diverse students in education.
